SCOPE OF WORK

Renovation / Remodel

Hays Electrical Services is proud to have contributed to the expansion of the David G. and Jacqueline M. Braithwaite Building, home to the School of Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler. This state-of-the-art facility, located at 3900 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75799, underwent a significant expansion to accommodate the growing demand for nursing education and to enhance the student experience. The expansion added 47,000 square feet to the existing building, more than tripling the capacity for simulation and skills labs. The first floor now houses advanced simulation spaces designed for training in medical-surgical acute care, intensive care, pediatrics, mother-baby, and home health. Additional features include an open lab for clinical preparation, student lounges, debriefing rooms, offices, a workroom, and health assessment labs. The second floor, expected to be completed in 2025, will host spaces for student wellness, collaborative research, and student affairs and marketing. This expansion was made possible through a $50.5 million investment from the UT System Board of Regents and aligns with UT Tyler's mission to improve educational and healthcare outcomes for East Texas and beyond. The project was designed with a student-centered approach, ensuring that every aspect of the building supports the learning and development of future healthcare professionals .
